The Lexington story began back in 1983, when a young family purchased land in Lombard, Illinois. The acquisition of this land which still exists today was subsequently developed as a state-of-the-art senior health care community which included a free-standing skilled nursing center augmented by a life care independent living facility. The goal was to create an environment where residents and their family members could receive needed health care services while living an independent life style all located on one campus. When the doors opened in 1984, Lexington Health Network was officially launched.
From 1984 through today, Lexington Health Network continues to thrive as a dynamic and comprehensive health care network that has now grown to include 10 skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities, 2 independent and assisted living buildings, augmented with home health, hospice, and private duty services all of which now serve several counties in and around Chicago. The rapid and consistent growth of Lexington Health Network is attributed to the founding family’s desire to create, develop, and expand a template for superior health and senior care – a family business caring for families in need.
